Outdoor Lights

Key Features and Benefits of This Outdoor Lantern

The wet location rating means this lantern withstands direct rain and moisture exposure without compromising safety, unlike many indoor-only fixtures. Dimmable compatibility lets homeowners adjust brightness for security or ambiance, while the clear water glass shade helps distribute light evenly across doorways.

Where to Use the GVR8406K Outdoor Lantern

Install this lantern beside front doors, garage entries, or on covered and uncovered exterior walls where rain exposure is expected. Its wet rating makes it appropriate for fully exposed outdoor spots, unlike damp-rated fixtures limited to covered areas.

Installation and Compatibility Checks

This lantern requires a compatible dimmer switch to use its dimming feature and one 100-watt-max incandescent bulb with a standard base, sold separately. Confirm the exterior junction box matches the fixture's 6.5" x 7.5" mounting footprint before installation.

Additional Buying Context

Backed by a 1-year manufacturer warranty, the Grover lantern suits homeowners replacing older, non-dimmable exterior fixtures. Because it accepts standard 120V incandescent bulbs, it can also be paired with compatible LED replacements for lower energy use without changing the fixture.
