Product Warranty
Every product we sell is backed by its manufacturer's warranty. Here's how coverage works, and the role Lumenco plays in helping you use it.
Manufacturer Warranties, Facilitated by Lumenco
All products sold on Lumenco.ca are covered by the warranty offered by their original manufacturer — not by Lumenco. Warranty length, terms and conditions vary by brand and by product category, and are set entirely by the manufacturer.
As an authorized reseller, Lumenco offers these manufacturer warranties on your behalf and is glad to help facilitate a claim: gathering your proof of purchase, connecting you with the right manufacturer contact, and following up on your behalf whenever we can.
Lumenco does not extend, modify or guarantee manufacturer warranty terms. The manufacturer remains solely responsible for honouring the warranty on its product.
What Manufacturer Warranties Typically Cover
Exact terms depend on the brand and product, but most manufacturer warranties on Lumenco.ca follow this general pattern:
Manufacturing Defects
Materials or workmanship defects present at the time of purchase, under normal use.
Terms Set by Brand
Coverage length (often 1–10 years) and conditions are defined by the manufacturer, not Lumenco.
Proof of Purchase
Your Lumenco.ca order confirmation or invoice serves as your proof of purchase for any claim.
Looking for the exact warranty length or terms for a specific product? Check the product page or datasheet, or contact our team and we'll confirm it with the manufacturer for you.
Lumenco's Role as an Authorized Reseller
Lumenco offers manufacturer warranties on behalf of the brands we distribute, and we do our best to help every customer resolve a valid warranty claim quickly. That said, it's important to understand the limits of our role:
If a Manufacturer No Longer Exists
Warranties on Lumenco.ca products are issued and honoured by the product's manufacturer. Lumenco is not the warrantor and offers these warranties strictly on the manufacturer's behalf. If a manufacturer ceases operations, is dissolved, becomes insolvent, or is otherwise unable to honour its warranty, Lumenco shall not be held responsible for fulfilling that warranty in the manufacturer's place. We will always do what we reasonably can to assist affected customers, but we cannot guarantee a resolution in this situation.
- i Lumenco is a facilitator, not the warrantor — we relay claims to the manufacturer and support you through the process, but the manufacturer decides and honours the outcome.
- i Coverage depends on the brand — warranty length, exclusions and claim requirements are set by each manufacturer and can differ from product to product.
- i No liability beyond facilitation — Lumenco's responsibility is limited to reasonably assisting with the claim process; we are not liable for a manufacturer's refusal, delay, or inability to honour its warranty.
What's Generally Not Covered
While every manufacturer sets its own exclusions, most warranties do not cover the following:
- ! Normal Wear & Tear — gradual deterioration from ordinary use, including natural light output decline in LED products over time.
- ! Improper Installation or Misuse — damage from installation not performed to code, incompatible fixtures, or use outside the manufacturer's specifications.
- ! Unauthorized Repairs or Modifications — any alteration or repair attempt made outside of the manufacturer's authorized service process.
- ! Accidental Damage, Power Surges & Environmental Factors — drops, impacts, water intrusion beyond the product's rating, or damage from electrical surges.
- ! Missing Proof of Purchase — claims generally require a valid Lumenco.ca order confirmation or invoice.
- ! Residential Products Used Commercially — some manufacturers reduce or void coverage when a residential-grade product is installed in a commercial application, or vice versa.
Always refer to the specific manufacturer's warranty documentation for the exclusions that apply to your product.
Warranty FAQ
Does Lumenco provide its own warranty on products?
No. Products sold on Lumenco.ca are covered by the warranty of their original manufacturer. Lumenco offers this warranty on the manufacturer's behalf as an authorized reseller, but the manufacturer remains responsible for its terms and fulfillment.
How long is my product covered?
Warranty length varies by manufacturer and product category — typically anywhere from 1 to 10 years. Check the product page, packaging, or included documentation for the exact term, or contact us and we'll look it up for you.
What happens if the manufacturer of my product no longer exists?
Because the warranty is issued by the manufacturer and only offered by Lumenco on its behalf, Lumenco cannot be held responsible for honouring a warranty if the manufacturer has closed, dissolved, become insolvent, or is otherwise unable to fulfill its obligations. We will do what we reasonably can to help, but we cannot guarantee an outcome in this situation.
What do I need to make a warranty claim?
Most manufacturers require proof of purchase (your Lumenco.ca order confirmation or invoice), a description of the issue, and often photos of the product and any defect. Requirements can vary by brand, so we recommend reaching out to our team first — we'll confirm exactly what's needed and help route your claim.
Is normal wear and tear covered under warranty?
Generally, no. Manufacturer warranties cover defects in materials or workmanship — not gradual wear from normal use, such as the natural decline in brightness some LED products experience over many years of operation.
Can Lumenco help even though it isn't the warrantor?
Yes. While the manufacturer is responsible for the warranty itself, our team is happy to help gather your documentation, identify the right manufacturer contact, and follow up on your behalf wherever possible.
Have a Warranty Question?
Our team can help confirm coverage terms, point you to the right manufacturer contact, and support you through the claim process.
