Key Features and Benefits of This Outdoor Lantern

The wet location rating means this lantern can be mounted fully exposed to weather, not just under an overhang, which gives more placement flexibility on a porch or garage wall. Clear seeded glass adds texture while still letting light spread for better visibility at entry points.

Where to Use the WVR8406IZ Outdoor Lantern

This lantern is designed for front entry doors, garage sidelights, and covered or uncovered exterior walls thanks to its wet location rating. It is a compact fixture at 17 inches tall, so it suits standard entry door sconce placement rather than large facades.

Installation and Compatibility Checks

The lantern wires into a standard 120V exterior junction box and uses one socket rated to 100 watts, with the bulb sold separately. It is dimmable with a compatible switch, and an LED-rated dimmer is recommended if an LED bulb replaces the standard incandescent option.

Additional Buying Context

Quoizel covers the Westover lantern with a 1 year manufacturer warranty. Because it is wet location rated, it is a solid replacement for older exterior sconces that were only rated for damp or indoor use, giving more reliable protection through Canadian winters.
