Key Features and Benefits of This Outdoor Lantern

A wet location rating matters because it allows installation in areas directly exposed to rain, unlike fixtures rated only for damp locations. Dimmable compatibility lets homeowners adjust entryway brightness for security or ambiance, provided an LED compatible dimmer is used with LED bulbs.

Where to Use the AVN8305WT Avon Lantern

This lantern suits front doors, garages, and covered or uncovered exterior walls thanks to its wet location rating. It is often installed in matching pairs to flank an entryway for symmetrical curb appeal. It uses a medium base bulb rated up to 100 watts, sold separately.

Installation and Compatibility Checks

The Avon mounts to a standard exterior wall electrical box on a 120V circuit and takes one medium base bulb up to 100 watts. If dimming is desired, confirm the dimmer switch is LED compatible when using LED bulbs, since standard incandescent dimmers may not perform well.

Additional Buying Context

Its wet location rating makes the Avon a dependable choice for exposed entryways where many decorative lanterns are limited to damp locations only. Pairing two units symmetrically at a front door is a common, verified use noted for this fixture.
