Key Features and Benefits of This LED HID Replacement Lamp

Operating on 120-277V line voltage with ballast bypass, this lamp removes the ballast entirely, cutting a common failure point and simplifying retrofits. Its 360-degree beam angle matches the omnidirectional output of the HID lamp it replaces, so existing fixtures keep even coverage. ETL listing supports use in commercial outdoor applications.

Where to Use the LED20FHID-ED23.5-EX39-850 LED HID Replacement Lamp

This lamp suits parking lot post tops, bollards, wall packs, and other EX39 mogul-base fixtures currently running 100-watt metal halide or high-pressure sodium lamps. It is not designed for dimmable circuits, since the lamp is not dimming compatible. Its 5000K output favors security and area lighting where daylight-toned light aids visibility.

Installation and Compatibility Checks

Confirm the fixture uses an EX39 mogul extended base and can accept the ED23.5 bulb shape and length before ordering. Because this lamp bypasses the ballast, the existing ballast should be disconnected or removed during installation. It runs on universal 120-277V input, but it is not compatible with dimmer switches.

Additional Buying Context

NaturaLED backs this lamp with a 5-year warranty and ETL listing, along with RoHS and FCC compliance, useful documentation for commercial retrofit projects. Its 100-watt HID equivalence makes it a straightforward one-for-one swap for aging metal halide or high-pressure sodium fixtures, without needing to replace the fixture housing itself.
